Travel

I hate flying but love traveling.  Sometimes you have to do one to get the other.  Here are a few of my favorite places and recommendations (in progress) of where to stay and what to do.

Todos Santos, Mexico – May 2012

More pictures here.

  • How you get there: Fly to Cabo San Lucas.  Rent a car and drive to Todos which is about 1.5 hours north.  Brand new freeway and super easy drive.
  • Where we stayed: Hotel Casa Tota.  Loved it and would highly recommend it.  Great service and fantastic restaurant. Get room 13 and you’ll have the hot tub basically right outside your room.  And make sure to grab coffee from the restaurant downstairs and take it up to the rooftop deck.
  • Where we ate: Hotel California catered all of the wedding festivities and everything I ate was delicious. We also enjoyed Cafelix which had great cappuccinos, huevos rancheros and a fantastic yogurt/granola/honey breakfast. There is a burrito place next door to the cafe which had some of the best burritos I’ve ever eaten.  We went there twice.
  • Other things to do: Go to Cerritos beach and surf.  You can rent a board and wetsuit.  If you don’t like surfing you can sit on the sandy beach, watch the surfers and enjoy a bucket of beers from the beach bar.  Do not go to La Paz.  We went and there’s really nothing to see.

  1. It’s a shame that you didn’t know where to go in LaPz. I’t really a beautiful city with one of the nicest malecon’s in the world and many world class restaurants and then there’s the beaches out of town to die for. Just gotta know hwaere to go or who to ask!

    • Yeah, we’ve heard that from a couple of people. I think our downfall was that we went on Sunday after a wedding on our way to Cabo. We were tired and just wanted to get to our next stop. I think if we did it again, we’d need to dedicate a day to La Paz to really check things out. The Sea of Cortez was absolutely gorgeous though.
